Publishing Guidelines for the Tyler District Web SiteBy: Reverend Alton E. ParisThere are many ways to publish information on the Internet. Almost everyone has something to say and given the appropriate setting will say that some-thing of course. The Tyler District Web Site is designed to provide accurate, timely, and relevant information to the Tyler District and the friends of the Tyler District. We actively solicit information from the members and friends of the Tyler District. The information you provide will be screened, edited and published in accordance with standard journalism rules, standards and guidelines established by the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Tenth Episcopal District and the Tyler District. This document provides guidelines for submitting material to The Tyler District Webmaster. Status of DocumentsThe Copyright Laws must be observed at all times. Most written material including The Discipline of The African Methodist Episcopal Church is protected by copyright. Excerpts may be published by permission of the holder of the copyright. Origional MaterialDocuments that you author can be published with your permission, still obseving he Copyright laws. You may copyright such material. We w will give you credit as the author and copyright holder if you wish. Material From Other SourcesYou can use material from other sources as long as you observe the proper protocol and give credit for the source you are using. For example: In a sermon titled "The Land of Oh No", Bishop Bryant while preaching at the Cornerstone AME Church of the Colony TX, stated, Do not let even your mama take you to the land of "Oh No".FormatPlease submit all documents in pure ascii text with no formating. Don't waste time formating because the Webmaster will have to reformat anyway. If you must use Microsfot Word, please save the document as "HTML". Be sure to include all the files and directories created by "saving as". FTP (File Transfer Protocol)FTP is the best way to send a document to the Webmaster for publishing. There are many FTP Programs available for free on the web. However, if you are doing a lot of File Transfers, WS_FTP Pro is a good investment. Otherwise, WS_FTPLE is also available free for 501c3 organizations. You can browse to http://www.ipswitch.com to purchase WS_FTP Pro or to download WS_FTPle. Call pastor paris and we can coordinate the setup so you will be able to FTP your files to the Webmaster. |
